It was 4038, and Dana was shopping with her mother. It was her ninth birthday and she was going to get a robot doll and was so excited. There was a pretty one with a lavender silk dress that she wanted. It had a coruscating ribbon. When they got to the store, she ran inside searching for her new best friend. She immediately found it and ran back to her mother.
“Mother! I got it! Can we buy her now!?” she yelled.
“Of course,” said her mother.
When they walked out of the store, Dana felt a shake. “Mother, what was that?” she asked.
“I don’t know,” her mother replied.
Then, the glass from the windows shattered. People were running everywhere. Dana’s mother rushed her to the town square where there was a public bomb shelter. They crouched down, huddled against each other. The walls were shaking; it felt like a huge earthquake and tornado combined. It was just her and her mother in the shelter.
Dana watched the faintly glowing light swing back and forth. Suddenly, it was pitch black. The rumbling continued for what felt like forever to Dana and her mother. Her mother, not knowing how difficult their journey would be, tried to coax Dana into sleep. She, on the other hand, couldn’t think about sleeping. As usual, Dana dreamed a wonderful dream about hot chocolate, sweets, and her new doll.
When Dana woke up, she couldn’t remember where she was. All she remembered was rumbling, the swinging light, and her new doll. She searched for her doll and found it by her mother. She tried to wake her mother up but couldn’t. Dana was beginning to worry. She looked at her surroundings seeing burnt wood, bricks, and dust everywhere. The shelter was demolished. Unsuccessfully finding the door, she crawled back to her mother. She huddled against her and tried to fight sleep.
Her stomach was growling viciously, so she searched for an opening. After about an hour of searching, she found one out of the collapsed bomb shelter. It was small, but, nevertheless, she tried to crawl through. She had to rearrange a lot but finally got out. She had no idea where she was. There was clear, glistening water in front of her. To her right, there was about 18 meters of sand and then forest. She was stunned by the realization that she was on an island. She hurried to her mother.
“Mother! Mother! Wake Up! You gotta see!” she cried.
Not getting an answer, she became upset. She knew she had to get help, but she didn’t know where help was. She decided to go back out and find food and help.
With her doll in hand, she walked across the hot, grainy sand. Every now and then, she would call out for help. Finally, after hours of searching, she saw smoke.
“No. It’s just your eyes playing a trick on you,” she told herself. As she got closer, she sped up. “Hello! Is anyone there?!” she yelled.
She couldn’t hear a thing so she approached where the smoke was coming from, a blue and white brick cottage. It had windows in the front with a white knocker. The place looked deserted so she approached the window carefully and took a peek. It was bare, but very clean. It had a bookcase the color of rich mahogany near the window. There was an old chair that was appealing to her. She tried the door and surprisingly, she felt the door slowly crack open. She cautiously walked through the door and to the chair, having no more energy to look around for food. She fell into a deep sleep that comforted her aching muscles and sorrowful heart.
“Hello? Who are you? Are you ok?” a raspy voice asked. Dana jumped in surprise falling out the chair. “I’m so sorry! Are you ok?”
“I’m fine. Who are you?” she asked.
“My name’s Dr. Demetri. Who are you? How did you get here and who are you with?”
“I’m Dana and I’m here with my mother,” she replied.
Dana explained what she could to the doctor. It was hard since she was so confused. He told her to go back to sleep after she had a midnight snack. When she awoke, she smelled bacon, eggs, and biscuits. She nearly sprinted to the food and then dug in. Dr. Demetri entered the room with a grim expression.
“Am I going back home soon?” she asked, although she already knew the answer.
“I’m afraid not, but you’re welcome to stay here. I can homeschool you and there are other kids here your age,” he replied, saying the last part excitedly.
Dana didn’t know what to do. She had practically just met Dr. Demetri and she wanted to go home with her mother. That was when it hit her. That was when she knew she would never see her mother alive again. She decided to try to find out more about this Dr. Demetri.
“Why do you live here? What do you do?” she asked.
“I came just like you. I’m an aquatic biologist for Higud. I report all my findings to them,” he answered bluntly.
“How did I get here?”
“I honestly don’t know. It just happens sometimes. No one has been able to figure it out.”
“It’s so confusing. What do you do as an aquatic biologist?”
“You’ll know soon enough,” he said and walked out the room.
Dana decided to explore so she went outside. When she got back from her little adventure, she found Dr. Demetri in the basement that was filled with lab equipment. It had everything from test tubes to hydro labs.
“Will you please tell me now?” she begged.
"There’s someone I want you to meet. Hold on, I’ll go get her”.
He went through a metal door and knelt in front of a hole in the floor. He caught her staring so he shut the door. After minutes of being impatient, he came out. He had a Big rectangle box object with a blanket over it. She tried to somehow look through the blanket to see what it was, but of course she couldn’t.
“When you see her, you gotta promise not to scream.”
“I promise,” she said shakily.
She was thinking of all the possibilities for the person under the blanket. She could feel the goose bumps rise as he slowly began to remove the blanket. She would never forget what she saw under the blanket. There was a glass rectangle water tank that was taller and wider than Dr. Demetri. Inside, was the weirdest creature she had ever seen. It looked like a creature from the Black Lagoon storied she had read. It was brown, green, blue, and black.
“What’s wrapped all around her?” she asked puzzled.
“It’s a plant called algae. It’s one of the main producers in a reservoir or lake. She got infected in the local lake by something. This is what I do: try to uninfect her. She can hear and talk just like normal, but must be contained in water at all times. She’s really nice. Say something to her”, he encouraged.
“Umm….h-hi,” she stuttered.
“Hi. No need to be afraid. I won’t bite or anything. My name’s Ephany. What’s your name?” Ephany asked.
“My name is Dana. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Likewise little Dana,” Ephany said with a singsong voice.
Dana didn’t know what to think. She was talking to a creature that she didn’t even think could exist. Ephany, Dr. Demetri, and Dana talked for a little while until Ephany had to go back into the hole in the ground. According to Dr. Demetri, it took Ephany to the lake. Ephany was really nice. She reminded Dana of her mother whom she missed a lot. Dr. Demetri told her that she could talk to Ephany again tomorrow while he conducted more tests. He said he was really close to curing her. Dana hoped he was because she wanted to meet her as a real person and someone she was still a little scared of.
The next day, Dana got to know Ephany better while Dr. Demetri conducted tests. She learned that Ephany came to the island just like she had. Apparently, everyone on the island had come that way. Also, she learned that Ephany was from Tennessee. Ephany told her the island was called Mercala and that no one knew how it formed or how people get there.
“I should be able to treat you in a matter of days. I just have to make a solution. I could explain it but it’s pretty complicated,” Dr. Demetri reported.
They all cheered and decided to celebrate after Ephany got treated. The next couple of days, Dana was alone most of the time. Dr. Demetri was in the lab twenty-four seven and Ephany was in the water savoring her last day because that night she would be cured. Dana wasn’t going to be allowed in the room when it happened but she was going to get to see her right after her transformation. Dr. Demetri and Ephany were in the lab that very moment getting ready.
She was able to tell when they started. She could hear Ephany’s desperate calls while she was changing from a creature back to a human. Soon, Dr. Demetri called her inside. Dana jaw dropped to the floor when she saw the new woman sitting in front of her. She had long, curly, dark brown hair with blonde highlights. She had a beautiful face with piercing green eyes. She saw the way her eyes lit up when she saw herself in a mirror.
“You’re beautiful Ephany,” Dana said in awe.
Like planned they celebrated. They had great food and music. Dana had the time of her life. Dr. Demetri was starting to cure others who were infected the next day. Dana stayed and lived with Dr. Demetri. She saw Ephany everyday and kept the robot doll with her at all times to remind her of her mother. She wanted to grow up to be an aquatic biologist just like Dr. Demetri. Dana and her doll lived a great life.

“I love you, I’ll see you later,” Todd said as he drove away from the curb.
“I love you, too,” said Emma. Emma turned on to her street when she heard footsteps behind her. She turned, but didn’t see anyone. She started walking again and continued to hear the strange noises, so she sped up. She ran up her driveway when all of a sudden something or someone grabbed her from behind. She screamed and regretted turning around.
“Ha-ha, I scared you BIG time,” laughed Juanita, her best friend.
“Oh my gosh, you scared the crap out of me,” said Emma, as she opened the door to her empty house.
“Have you heard about what’s supposed to happen today?” Juanita asked as she followed Emma inside.
“You mean the whole end of the world stuff they keep playing on the news…Do you honestly believe that stuff?” Emma replies as she left to get soda from the kitchen.
“Not really,” said Juanita, “but wouldn’t it be really weird of there really was an alien invasion?”
“Please tell me you still don’t think Todd is an alien?”
“I don’t think that, but you have to admit that he is a little creepy, the way you hear him randomly talk in some bizarre language and suddenly stop when you walk in the room?
“Okay, it is weird, but trusts me that am NOTHING wrong with Todd!” Emma fights back as she comes back with their drinks.”
“Fine, but I will definitely be the one to tell you ‘I told you so,’ when he turns out to be a creeper,” said Juanita, smirking.
“Okay,” answered Emma. Emma checked her watch and realized how late it was getting.
“Juanita it’s getting late, I’ve got to do something.”
“What do you got to do?” asked Juanita.
“I have to go to the park to pick up my little brother, Tristan”
“Why can’t your mom do it?”
“She’s as work, I really got to go.”
“Okay, I will see you tomorrow at school.”
Emma got into her car and drove to the park. She automatically walked over to the swing-set, her little brother’s favorite place. She didn’t see her brother and started to panic. Emma frantically searched the park and still couldn’t find her little brother. She returned back to the swing-set and noticed his backpack. She ran over to pick up the bag. While picking up the bag, she had a strange feeling and looked up. She noticed Phil lurking around his car, staring at her. Phil has given Emma the creeps ever since he tried to take her to conduct his “science experiments.” She then had this awful feeling that Phil had grabbed her brother. The one thing that confused her though was why he would take Tristan. She really didn’t know what to do, so she immediately called the police, who work for the Higud. She looked up again in the direction of Phil’s vehicle, but both he and his car were gone.
Emma saw Phil’s vehicle turn onto the highway, so she ran to her car and followed him. She was confused by the very unfamiliar back roads Phil was driving on. Emma noticed the small figure of her brother in the backseat fighting to get free. That when’s she knew that her suspicions were correct and she pursued her chase again Phil in order to save Tristan. Phil and Emma finally stopped at a small rugged old shed at the edge of the woods. She watched Tristan and his friends be forced out of the car and into the shed. Emma got out and closed her car door carefully and carefully walked to the small shed to see what was happening.
She walked up and peered into the small window and saw several different types of explosives. She glanced around the shed more and saw her brother and his friends tied up in the corner. The thing that scared her the most was the odd language that sounded so familiar to her. At first she couldn’t remember where she’d heard that language from, but then she finally remembered. It was the exact same language she always heard Todd murmur to himself. She knew she definitely had to do something, but she knew that with all the explosives in the shed, going in to save Tristan would be totally suicide. She called for help again and said that her little brother was kidnapped and gave the road that the shed was on. She kept watching Phil through the window and noticed that he was constructing multiple bombs.
Emma heard a vehicle approach and assumed that it was the police. However, it wasn’t who she thought it was. When she rounded the corner to greet who she thought was the police, she actually ended up running right into Todd. She became very scared because she knew that Juanita was right and that there was definitely something wrong with Todd.
“What’s wrong Emma, you look like you’ve just seen a ghost,” asked Todd.
“Phil kidnapped Tristan, and I don’t know how to save him,” replied Emma in a panicky voice.
“I know all about your brother, Emma.”
“How’d you know?”
“It was my idea.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I was the one who decided to kidnap your brother,” admitted Todd.
“Why,” Emma demanded.
“I sense that you would get scared and call the police immediately.”
“What do you mean you ‘sensed?’”
“My telepathy gives me the ability to sense others’ thoughts and reads others’ minds. Every alien has a special power.”
“Alien?! I don’t believe in aliens! What is seriously going on?”
“I really am an alien…well, half alien. Phil, my dad, is a full alien. I can prove it if you want.”
“Whoa, wait a minute. Phil is your dad? And how can you prove it?”
“I can read your mind. You’re thinking that you really don’t trust me anymore, and you’re worried about your brother.”
“Anyone could have guessed that.”
“Fine, then think of something that nobody knows about you.”
“Okay, what am I thinking?”
“You’re thinking that you had a feeling that Juanita was right about me the entire time.”
“What are you?!”
“I told you, I’m an alien! And so is my father.”
Emma backed up completely into the shed and felt someone grab her. Phil dragged her into the shed. Todd and Phil tied her up and set her in the corner by her brother and his friends. She tried to use her words when she heard the sirens of the police car, but the tape that was over her mouth muffled her. She tried to get the tape off her mouth to warn the police of the impending doom but couldn’t.
“Todd, is that the sheriff out there,” asked Phil in hopes that his plan would work out perfectly.
“I think it is. Our plan is right on time,” declared Todd.
Phil started to set up the bombs and waited for the police to make their move. Emma finally managed to get the tape off of her mouth just in time for the sheriff to walk into the shed, his gun pointed at Phil.
“Dad, don’t shoot him,” cried Emma to the sheriff.
“Your dad is the sheriff,” asked Todd with a surprised expression on his face.
“Yes, now let us go,” exclaimed Emma.
Phil kept staring at the sheriff and tried to control the sheriff’s emotions with his empathy. “Why did you kill my wife,” Phil asked the sheriff.
“I’m sorry. There wasn’t anything I could do, she was already near death,” remarked the sheriff.
Phil began to control the sheriff’s thoughts and made him feel sympathy and sorrow for letting Phil’s wife die. Phil’s hand made its way to the red button that could blow up the shed and everyone in it. He was about to push the button, when all of the sudden Todd ran and stopped his father.
“What are you doing, son? He killed your mother. He must die,” yelled Phil.
“It was an accident, and I was wrong for helping you.”
Todd walked over to Emma and her brother and apologized for everything and freed them from the ropes and tape. However, as soon as the last child was free, Phil pressed the red button and the countdown from 10 began. Todd hurriedly got Emma, Tristan, and all of Tristan’s friends out of the shed. After securing Emma’s safety, Todd ran back to get the sheriff only to realize he was already safe. Phil was still standing by the button waiting. Todd waited as the shed went up in smithereens.
“Todd, you saved me,” Emma said as she looked up at him.
“Do you forgive me,” begged Todd with undeniable puppy dog eyes that Emma could not resist.
“I don’t know yet,” replied Emma.
“Please,” Todd continued to beg.
She looked up at her father who was nodding his head in approval. “Yes, I forgive you…but please stay out of my head,” laughed Emma.
“Deal,” smiled Todd as he leaned in to give her a kiss.
“I’m sorry about your dad,” Emma told Todd as they drove home.
“What do you mean?”
“Wasn’t he still in the shed when the bombs went off?”
“Yes, but you shouldn’t worry about him…aliens don’t die that easily.”

Time Flights
Joshua Shaw
I
Science Commander Michel log,March 12, 3100 8:30. My research team and I have found an anomaly precisely 12 light years away from Higud headquarters on Earth. We have been sent to investigate this phenomenon. What we had detected from Earthwasthat a nebula had begun to form at the location I mentioned earlier. The nebula seems to be stable thus concluding that gravity has its gripped on the large gaseous formation, yet it has a reverse electrical charge. We have theorized that the nebula is composed of antimatter. Although this has not been proven, we are to proceed with cushion thus we have brought a long an electromagnetic shield that will (hopefully) deflect the antimatter around our vesicle.
Our ship is a Phoenix Exploration Class Ship called the Finder. The ship runs off of the theory that small traces of energy spontaneously become particles of matter and antimatter. These particles are known as Hawking Particles in reference to Stephen Hawking, who in the 20th century theorized their existence. Because of the opposite charges,Hawking particles would usually annihilate each other, and become energy again. The engines on the finder are composed of very large and extraordinarily powerful electromagnets that generate an electromagnetic field that controls the Hawking Particles to create a form of a warped space field which allows the ship to travel faster than light although the ship is not actuallytraveling a very great velocity.
The shield is a bit of a modification to the warp engine. The difference lies in how it controls the particles around it. Where the engine causes the particles to create a gravity field change the shields only deflect particles with like charges while the opposite charge lies in the interior of the ship preventing. This setup prevents the charged particle from coming in contact with object being protected in this case the Finder. The shield is not affective against neutral particles, such as neutrons and mesons, nor does the shield work against pure radiation.
At this point I will end my log at this point seeing that we are approaching the anti-matter nebula. I will continue my log after the mission has concluded.
II
At 9:00 the Finder reaches the anti- matter nebula which is emitting an exquisite blue green spectrum of color that dazzles the eyes of the beholder. The Finder’s massive electromagnetic shields are activated to prevent contact with the gaseous material around them.
“Do you have any idea how much resources had to be used to even begin this research?” asks Captain Rachly.
“Are you aware of the value of antimatter to any civilization in the Milky Way?” responded Michel rhetorically. “The Higud command has allowed me to find the source of antimatter and possibly recreate the conditions that allow the spontaneous creation of antimatter. In compensation they have allowed the extraction of some of the material to experiment on, and become an accessible resource to use for more common use other than the largest vesicles.”
“I still do not appreciate the idea of transportingvolatile material on my ship risking my crews’ lives and the ship itself.” “Even if I agree to transport this material what would I get out of it?”
“For one you would be allowed to keep a large portion of the antimatter for your ship’s engines…”
“My ship doesn’t run on antimatter!”
“Actually, it kind of does. Your reactor absorbs gamma rays like a solar panel to create electric energy which powers the engines. The next thing that guaranties that you will transport the antimatter is that when you signed the contract with the Higud you allow your vesicle to be used for scientific purposes which includes the transport of rare materials.”
“Cadet”
“Yes, sir” said a young man, no more than 23, who was on the bridge of the ship.
“Have the log contract checked for any indication of this statement” ordered the captain.
“You might want to check article 237. It should make the search a bit easier” Advised Michel.
“Yes sirs” Replied the cadet.
The conversation continued like this for some time. The shields were at full power and the ship was now fully submerged in the antimatter nebula. Suddenly, the gravity sensor began to detect a slight, but apparent gravity flux in space time. Michel begins to analyze the data being displayed on the screen while explaining to Captain Rachly that space time was like a sheet of crocheted fabric that when a mass is placed on it the fabric bends to create a gravity field.
“So it really works like that?” asked Rachly.
“No, but if it helps…” responded Michel.
III
After nearly an hour of analyzing the data Michel and a few other scientists determined that the gravity field was being generated from a central point in the nebula. The decided to scan the point to determine what was generating the gravity at the point. When the signal was sent the signals pattern was distorted indicating that space at the point was larger in the point than it was outside of the point. Soon after the signal was picked up again, this time the signals had more complex structure as if it were a communication signal. Michel directed the signal to a visual screen to try and translate it. The screen came on with the image of a young woman who gave a striking image of a girl Michel had known from a few years earlier. He began transmitting a signal back to try and talk to this other person.
“Michel?” exclaimed the woman.
“Nersey?” replied Michel
“How did you survive?” asks Nersey
“I could ask you the same question.”
“I asked first.”
“Survived what?”
“From being killed when your ship crashed three years ago.”
“Wait, are you talking about the Chrysler?” he asks confused.
“Yeah.”
“You died were on it when it crashed not me.”
“What?!”
“You were on the Chrysler when it crashed. A more pressing matter is where are you?”
“I’m on the Phoenix. Where are you?”
“On the Phoenix. We are investigating the spontaneous growth of a nebula made of anti-matter.”
“My team and I are investigating how a nebula made of matter is disappearing.”
“This could be an odd question, but what is the charge spin of the charge of the nucleus of the atom.”
She replies in an answer equivalent to that of a negative charge.
“Great.”
“What?”
“Did you receive a signal a few seconds before you began transmitting the communication?”
“Yes, we determined that it was coming from the gravity flux point.”
“I sent that signal.”
“That would mean that you are in the gravity flux point.”
“Not necessarily. I believe it means that I’m on the other side of the gravity point.”
“Are you meaning that it’s a space rift?”
“At least something to that affect. It could be an anomalous link between to time lines although that would not make a lot of since due to the difference in the composition of matter. A more likely explanation would be that it is a link between to universes.”
“Yet you sound like that is impossible.”
“Not anymore”
“Why’s that”
“I just splashed myself with water”

Their conversations continued to the point when they began to plot how they could transfer one or both of themselves to the others universe to talk face to face, and possibly continue the relationship that they had lost from the death of their opposite. Michel decided to conduct a test using the matter transporter on each of the ships to yet the occupant on the initial side would not be dematerialized as would be usual in more normal situations.
The test began smoothly. The scanner ring ran itself over Michel’s body. The dematerializer did not engage thus his body would remain on this side. He went to the computer screen to see how Nersey’s side had held up.
He began to see the construction of his body on the other side as it slowly formed into what he hoped would be a living being. Moments past. He know that the machine had to take every individual molecule, control it using powerful electromagnets, and place it precisely where it was before it dematerialized, and it could not allow any of the matter to move off its earlier trajectory while in transport otherwise the object would be distorted. The body finished being constructed. His alternative self was standing. The only difference between him and the other him was that he had a full two minutes more of memory. His alternative self was identical to him even in the minute detail of his jerkin.
The body of Michel stood there for a full minute than fell over dead. Nersey screamed in horror. Michel could not have known the devastating affect this would have had on Nersey. She had crouched down over the body crying.
V
Less than half an hour had passed when an approaching asteroid began to annihilate itself by the anomaly allowing the asteroid on both sides to come in contact with each other.
“Nersey does your ship have any shielding from gamma rays?”
“No, we did not expect to use them, so never brought them.” she said as a person who was still recovering from shock.
“Can you try to out run the gamma rays from the asteroid?”
“Our sub light engines cannot reach even close to the speed of light. Our warp engines are not able to be activated for another…”
“Nersey!”
Michel was watching the screen as it went blank. This most likely meant that the gamma rays had reached their ship and were jamming their signal. He felt a form of anxiety as he waited for them to reestablish a signal.
Nearly half an hour later the signal was brought back. Nersey was waiting. Several of the electronics were fried around her and she seemed to have burn marks. In the time they had waited Michel had been working on how to transport myself over to the antimatter Finder without dying. He had also been working with a few other people as to how to stop the “rift” from expanding any more. Now nearly twelve people from both ships were all huddled around the communication terminals to discuss the situation.
“So what would happen if we didn’t stop the ‘rift’ from expanding?” said a young scientist on the other side.
“Well the rift would encompass all space time destroying everything in reality.” Said a young scientist on this side, who was the same person just made of matter.
“So how can we fix it?” asked the antimatter Captain Rachly.
“I have been working on how the ‘rift’ may work. It appears to have a positive gravity surrounding with a negative gravity core.” replied Michel. “This prevents the gravity from collapsing forcing the ‘rift’ to from a star. If we could adjust our warp engines to force the core to collapse we should be able to force the rift closed.”
“Our ship just sustained heavy bombardment by gamma ray. If we tried to activate our engines now we could risk destroying the Finder.” exclaimed antimatter Captain Rachly. “There are no other vesicles in the vicinity. You are asking me to put my crew in jeopardy.”
“There is a way out of the Finder. I have been working on how to transport your people to this side without them dying.”
“Michel, you died last time.” said Nersey in a mournful voice.
“That was because my soul was not transported with the rest of me. My very essence staid here while a copy materialized on your side.
“I’m sold” replied Captain Rachly who was standing by Michel.
“Fine, we will commence transport as soon as both transporters are operational.”
VI
By now many of crew from the antimatter Finder were on the matter Finder. Both ships had begun to power their warp engines and it seemed to be causing the ‘rift’ to ‘shrink’. There were three people lift when the Captain from the antimatter Finder appeared on the transporter.
“The Finder has lost the capability of transporting anymore people.” He said as he left the pad.
“What?!” asked Michel worrying about Nersey, due to her not being transported.
“The scanners detected that the ‘rift’ was becoming too small to send a signal through.”
“Than how did you get here” asked a cadet who was about to usher the captain to his quarters.
“Like this.” the alternate captain said pulling a hand gun out and aiming at the cadets head.
The feel of defeat and regret began to boil in Michel as the alternate captain shot the computer to the side which controlled the transporter. The cadet faints. Michel gets from his char and pummels the captain with the chair that he was sitting in. This he had no regret.
VII
Two days had past and the last of the ‘rift’ was closed. Michel detects a signal still flowing from the ‘rift’. He turns on the communication computer (which was also the temporary transporter computer.
The transporter screams to life as the physical form of Nersey and an elderly women scientist appeared on the pad.
“Fixed it!” said Nersey as she and Michel embrace each other.
THE END
I
Science Commander Michel log,March 12, 3100 8:30.

THE END- rough draft
The End
3,000 AD
Packing for his trip, destination 10,000 BC, he just wants to get away from all of his complicated technology. He regrets ever inventing the carbon eating nanobots, but he didn’t want to disappoint everyone. Everyone had depended on him to find a solution to the oil spill, so he did. The only bad thing about these carbon eating bots is if they ever get out of hand it will be the end of everything. Now he is going to put the bots into his assistant’s, Jericho, hands. For once Lionel will not be held responsible if anything does happen.
10,000 BC
He just landed in the cavemen times. The time and space machine makes his bones ache. Stretching, he finally feels relaxed. He reassures himself that Jericho would be perfectly fine alone. Finally, he decides to leave the machine and find a place to stay. Little does Lionel know his time machine is not going to be there for long. There are other inhabitants, but not to Lionel’s knowledge.
Lionel is searching for a place to stay when he hears something behind him. Vroom. Thinking it is all in his head, he goes back to his search. He hears it again, so he whips his head around. That sounds like my time machine, but it is probably just an animal, Lionel thinks to himself. What he doesn’t know is that something else is taking his time and space machine on a little ride…..
3,000 AD
The beastly thing steps out of the small, compared to him, machine. This is a whole new world to him. He is stumbling down the streets staring up at the gigantic sky scrapers as if he were a child in a candy shop. Then, he came upon a smaller building with an electric fence around it. Caution signs were hung all over the fence. The signs did not do any good for Leroy because his is illiterate. Leroy ripped the lock off the gate and entered. He came up on a small circular building with many locks on the door. Being as strong as he was, Leroy just ripped the door open. When he opened the door he saw a man, obviously a guard, in the corner. Among him were at least 150 metal humans.
Leroy reaches out to touch one and it slaps his hand back. Startled, Leroy runs out of the building. Leaving the door open, the metal humans pour out into the streets. He hears yelling coming from the building that he and the bots deserted. He turns around to see the sleeping guard running to get the bots back in, but he fails. The bots grab him in their arms and destroy his body.
After seeing this, Leroy runs for his life. He goes back to the time and space machine and away from this bizarre place.
10,000 BC
Leroy arrives back at his home in just enough time to miss Lionel. Lionel was packing to go back to his stressful responsibilities in the real world. He steps into his time and space machine and off he goes…..
3,000 AD
Lionel steps out of the machine. His eyes take a minute to adjust, and then he looks around. Everything is gone. Only nanobots were to be seen.
